Dear all

We will update the Thinlinc server for all I-MATH assistants (PhD, PostDoc) on

Friday, 17.3.2023, 20:00-22:00

The operating system will change from Ubuntu 20.04 to 22.04 and the Thinlinc Server Software will be updated to 4.14.

During this time existing Thinlinc session will be killed.

Today around 15:00 we had several freezes on the Thinlinc terminals. It seems we found the problem (heavy network access) and will try limit the bandwidth.

Update 3.3.2023, 14:45 - Email to lecturer/teaching assistants¶

Dear all

Due to a configuration error we lost 214 homework student uploads from Thursday. The reason was a purging command which should removes files older than 180 days and instead removed all files. We restored all files except those from Thursday (which has not been backup'ed between error and next backup).

- Dynamical Systems and Ergodic Theory
- Elements of Geometry
- Introduction to Mathematical Finance
- Introduction to Probability
- Introduction to Statistics

- Lineare Algebra II für Physik
- Modelling Dependent Data
- Numerik I
- Qualitative theory of Differential Equations
- Statistics for Mathematicians

We know exactly which student / lecture/ upload is affected and will ask the student (by email, this afternoon) to upload the files again on a dedicated webpage (independent of any worksheet deadline).

@Teaching Assistants: If you start to correct and see that files are missing - please wait until the students re-uploaded it again.

We are very sorry for the mistake and apologize.

Update 3.3.2023, 20:35, Email to students¶

Dear all

Due to a configuration error on our MATH / MY website, we lost some student homework files. Affected are all uploaded home-works which has been uploaded Thursday 2.3.2023 between 00:05 and 20:00.

If you receive this email: at least one of your uploads are affected - please upload your homework again!

We are sorry for this extra work and apologize.

You can use the regular way to upload
