Public: [Maintenance] After LDAP Upgrade - stale TL sessions

Dear All

During the migration process a few ThinLinc sessions hosted on tl1 were accessing the LDAP service when it was not available. As a result the sessions are no longer valid.

If you have encountered a problem with logging in to ThinLinc today, please check the box "End existing session" in the ThinLinc client window:
https://wiki.math.uzh.ch/public/thinlinc#Get_a_new_and_fresh_session
You may need to do this twice before you can connect.

FYI: We will upgrade the DNS / LDAP server tonight:

10.07.2023 / Monday 21:30-23:00

If everything works as expected, you won't notice the upgrade

The LDAP migration has been done, all services seems to be fine.

The DNS migration was canceled for time reason, we announce a new date.

The expected network interruption should be less than a minute and affects all connection from and to the institute.

Public: [Fixed] Printing / SSH / Project / Hello

Sunday 2.7.2023 11:50 - 17:00: we had some problems with printing on thinlinc, project, ssh and hello - after some final migration steps (from the NFS server update on Thursday) some virtual machines showed fileystem problems.

The problems should be fixed now.

Public: [Maintenance] Thinlinc / Compute - summary

  • The NFS server upgrade has been done for the cloud storage, but not for the homes (technical issues).
  • All but the GIT server have been online again around 00:00. The GIT server was online again this moring around 07:00.
  • All system should be fine again - if not, please report.
  • As soon as the technical issues are solved, we have to schedule a second downtime to finish the NFS Server migration.

Dear All

Teams currently seems to have a Problem. Login via Website or App is impossible.

Error Website: Operation failed with unexpected error.
Error App: We couldn't connect to the internet. Try checking your connection.

This appears to be a problem on microsofts side, so we will have to be patient until it is fixed.

This implies a downtime/reboot of the Thinlinc and Compute server!

Affected:

- Thinlinc terminals/session
- Compute server
- GIT
- RStudio
- SSH

Not affected: Mail and Web
